Ipera Wireless
In early 2008 Ipera was approached by Marcus Westbury to provide Internet facilities to people participating in the Renew Newcastle project. Ipera agreed and in June, we launched Free WiFi in the Hunter Mall, available not only to Renew Newcastle Participants but also to the general public. Since then the coverage has grown to include Darby St and parts of Hunter St.
Every person is entitled to 50 Megabytes free each month. All they have to do is connect to the Ipera Wireless Hotspot network. Once connected open your web browser. When you try and access a site you will be redirected to a login page. From there you can register for free to get your access. This will give you access to websites only. You can also access to Ipera hosted websites and a list of nominated websites without registering. If you require more data you can purchase one of our plans by going to buy more link from the login page. This will also give you full access to the internet without restrictions.
