What is Ipera Business Internet?

Ipera offer a number of Business Internet solutions that are delivered over ADSL (Asymmetrical Digital Subscriber Line) and SHDSL (Single-pair High-speed Digital Subscriber Line)  technologies. The choice of access technology depends on your business needs and the availability of these options to your premises.

What connection speeds can I achieve?

Connection speeds start at 512Kbps download with 128Kbps upload and go all the way up to 10,000Kbps symmetrical.

What is the difference between a Symmetrical and an Asymmetrical Connection?

Your connection to Ipera can be symmetrical or asymmetrical. A symmetrical connection means that you can upload and download data at the same speed. This is important in some applications, such as where you are hosting your own web-site, providing a VOIP service, or running a server.

An assymetrical connection means that you can download data faster than you can upload. DSL (digital subscriber line) technology uses asymmetrical connections. These connections are ideal when you need to download a lot of data, but don't need to send much to the server, e.g web-browsing, downloading e-mails and most day-to-day internet usage.
